Lots of great movies are coming in this year. This is a list of 10 movies (in no particular order) that are surfing around a lot, whether it be on the internet or in school.
1. The Fault in Our Stars- The movie adaption based on a school summer reading for BLA has finally arrived. The movie plays this June 6, with Shailene Woodley, who played as the heroine in Divergent, playing as Hazel, along with Ansel Elgort playing as Gus. If you had enjoyed the book, I recommend checking the movie as a must-see.
2. Godzilla- Considering that this is a rated R movie, it probably shouldn’t be here, however, this is will still remain as a must-see for the seniors and staff members of BLA. It features the ever scary monster terrorizing the Earth, it’s people, and perhaps it’s fish as well. It comes out on May 16.
3. Captain America: The Winter Soldier- Marvel comes out with the second movie of Captain America this year, and based off the trailers, it will be action packed as any good superhero movie should be. It already came out. So go watch it!
4. X-men: Days of Future Past- The title is certainly confusing, but the concept of time traveling with Wolverine around, has more than enough appeal. To save themselves, the X-men send Logan back in time to correct the wrong-doings, whatever they may be. If you’re a fan of the X-men films, watching this is a must. It comes out May 23.
5. How to Train your Dragon 2- The first lovable movie has a long- awaited sequel. We get to see Toothless and Hiccup once more, which in my opinion, is wonderful. The trailers hint at a big war, which is awesome. It comes out on June 13.
6. The Hobbit: There and Back Again- I acknowledge the presence of LOTR fans among us students, teachers, and staff. The next part, part 3 to be exact, of The Hobbit has arrived, which excites even a non-reader fan as myself. They have left us hanging at that ending of the second, so I must say, I am indeed waiting for the film. It comes this December, the exact date has yet to be decided.
7. The Amazing Spider-man 2- This is at the top of my personal movie list for the year, for I am a severe Spider-man fan. The real reason it is on this list, however, is because people online claim it is the “Dark Knight of Spider-man” meaning that it is the pinnacle of Spider-man in the sense of plot. It comes out on May 2.
8. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1- As someone who enjoyed the second movie, I intend on watching this one as well. There is a major fan-base among the BLA students, so this is to honor them. It comes out on November 21, so don’t get too excited yet.
9. Dawn of The Planet of The Apes- The sequel to the Rise of The Planet of The Apes is finally arriving this year. James Franco, better known as the actor for Harry Osborn, is being replaced by Gary Oldman, who played as commissioner Gordon in the Batman Trilogy. This comes this May 23.
10. Guardians of The Galaxy- A movie you probably never heard of is a new Marvel superhero movie, that rumor has it, will connect to the next Avenger movie. For the Avenger fans, or even the Marvel fans, I recommend this movie. It comes on the first day of August this year.
