Do you know how crowded it is when people are off to class? Everyone is like a packed train that every corner of room is filled. Students are like a passenger who needs to get out at their stop. As a result students get shoved, their items would be damaged, and people begin to complain.

Many students are rushing as they quickly walk or run up the staircases to get to their classes on time. Students could not get to class on time because the time provided is not enough. The time should be increased to even four or five minutes to get to class.

Students can get hurt just from getting to their classes. The more time available for students to get to their classes, the less likely they will get hurt. If a student arrives late to class, they will lose precious minutes that they could have spent learning once class has begun.

Simply said, it is not fair to have to deal with the limited time to get to class. According to the Boston Latin Academy Student guide, Boston Latin Academy: Policy Guidelines For “NC” (No Credit) Grades Dues To Class Attendance, Students must attend each class for 93.3% of the marking term in order to receive a passing grade in that subject. BLA teachers are required to issue “NC” (No Credit) to any student who has “Three unexcused absences for Terms 1,2,3, or 4.”

Based on the student’s number of tardies he/she could eventually receive three unexcused absences in any term. The tardies count for NC for a single term. A student is required to have excellent attendance to succeed in every class. Three unexcused tardies is equivalent to an absent on a student’s report card.
